1. What Danley is

Danley provides preparation material for the FSCA regulatory examinations (currently the RE5): lessons, videos, practice quizzes and optional live sessions. Danley is exam preparation only.

  • Danley does not give financial advice, and nothing in a course is advice on any financial product.
  • Danley does not set, run or mark the regulatory examinations. You register for and write them through the FSCA's examination bodies, at their fees.
  • Danley is not affiliated with or approved by the FSCA, Moonstone or FPI. Completing a course does not qualify you for anything; only passing the regulatory examination does.
  • We cannot promise that you will pass. Your result depends on your own study and on the examination.

2. Your account

You need an account to study. Keep your password private. An account is for one person: sharing it, or sharing course material, is not allowed and may lead to the account being closed without a refund.

3. Prices and payment

Prices are shown in rand, including VAT where it applies, before you pay. Payment is by card on a secure payment page; we never see or store your card number. A course opens as soon as your payment clears.

4. Access

A course is open to you for 180 days from the day you pay, unless the course page says otherwise. After that it closes; you can enrol again at the price shown at the time.

5. Refunds

You can have a full refund for a course only if you ask within 7 days of paying and you have not opened any lesson or quiz in it. Once a lesson or quiz has been opened, the course is not refundable, because its content has been made available to you. We record when a course is first opened. When you pay, you confirm that you want your access to start immediately on these terms.

Live classes are not refundable.

This does not take away rights the law gives you that cannot be waived. In particular:

  • If we are unable to give you access to a course you paid for, and cannot fix it within a reasonable time, we will refund you.
  • If we cancel a live session, we will move your seat to another session or refund you, as you prefer.
  • If you are charged twice for the same thing, the duplicate payment is refunded.

6. Live classes

Live classes are booked separately. Each booking gives you a personal ticket; the join button on your ticket opens 15 minutes before the class and is for you only. If you miss a class you booked, it is not refunded or moved.

7. Our content

The lessons, videos, notes and questions are Danley's own work or used under licence. You may use them for your own study only. Copying, recording, reselling or sharing them is not allowed. Practice questions are written to help you prepare; they are not questions from the regulatory examination.

8. Advertising

Some public pages show advertising served by Google. Adverts are not endorsements by Danley. There is no advertising inside lessons or quizzes.

9. Limits

We work to keep the material accurate and up to date with the legislation, but the legislation itself is the authority. To the extent the law allows, Danley is not liable for losses arising from your use of the material, and our total liability is limited to what you paid for the course concerned. Nothing here limits liability that the Consumer Protection Act does not allow to be limited.
