Privacy policy

This explains what Danley collects about you, why, and your rights under the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).
What we collect
- Account details: your name, email address, optional mobile number, and a scrambled (hashed) version of your password.
- Study records: the courses you enrol in, the lessons you complete, your quiz answers and scores, and the live sessions you book.
- Payments: the amount, date and payment reference. Card details are entered on our payment provider's secure page; we never see or store your card number.
- Technical: a sign-in cookie that keeps you logged in, and basic logs needed to run the site securely.
- Advert measurement: when you arrive from one of our adverts on Facebook or Instagram, a Meta cookie records the visit, and when you sign up or pay we tell Meta that it happened, with your email address and mobile number in scrambled (hashed) form so Meta can match it to the advert. This tells us which adverts work.
Why we use it
- To give you the courses you paid for and show your progress.
- To take payment and keep the records the law requires.
- To answer you when you contact us.
- To tell you about new courses and live classes, only if you ticked the box to agree. You can stop this at any time.
Who we share it with
- Our payment provider, to process your payment.
- Our video host, which streams lesson videos to you.
- Our hosting and database providers, which store the site and its data for us.
- Google, which serves the advertising on public pages and may use cookies to do so. You can manage ad personalisation in your Google settings.
- Meta (Facebook and Instagram), to measure our own adverts as described above. You can manage this in your Facebook or Instagram ad settings.
We do not sell your information, and we do not pass your details to any other company for its own marketing.
How long we keep it
Your account and study records are kept while your account is open. Payment records are kept for as long as tax law requires. Ask us to close your account and we will delete what we are not required to keep.
Your rights
You may ask to see the information we hold about you, to correct it, or to have it deleted, and you may object to its use for marketing. If you are unhappy with how we handle it, you may complain to the Information Regulator (inforegulator.org.za).
